Our first styled proposal at Falls Rest

On Easter Monday we had our very first styled proposal at Falls Rest, James and Wendy were staying with us from Malaysia and after booking his one night stay on Airbnb, James contacted me to tell me about his idea to propose at Falls Rest. Well, to say I was excited was an understatement, David and I have been planning to add a few extra ideas and one of them was to do proposals and eventually small intimate elopements as well. As soon as James contacted me I went on to plan the stunning romantic proposal for him and his soon to be fiancé Wendy.

Jame and I had been messaging back and forth through instagram and as we hadn't set up a proposal for any guests yet I had no way to show James how amazing the proposal would be, we chatted about food and flowers and music and candles and how it would all pan out on the day. David and I were picking them up from Wentworth Falls station as they were travelling without a car so we planned their pick up on Monday morning and sent them on their way to Scenic World for the day, (hence the casual attire) but you cant let the cat out of the bag with asking Wendy to dress up when they were spending the day adventuring. David then went to pick them up in the afternoon just as James and I had planned and I would be waiting back at the cabin to capture and photograph the whole thing for them including a sneaky video set up. Wendy was in shock and so surprised that James had managed to plan it and keep it a secret from her for weeks and weeks before they arrived. Im sure you will agree our little romantic set up was a great way to propose to the love of his life.

After the initial proposal it was time to celebrate with a glass of Prosecco a grazing board and of course our beautiful carrot cake with a

“she said yes” topper, they enjoyed their moment in the garden surrounded by our birds and James got to tell Wendy all about the planning including the ring which BTW is not her real engagement ring, because they are travelling from another county, customs is quite strict with what you can bring into Australia without then having to pay TAX and also keeping it a secret from Wendy in luggage was not the easiest for James to organise so he opted for a close replica of her real ring which she now can't wait to see once they get home to Malaysia. The day went off without a hitch and Wendy of course said YES!

The next day I planned to take James and Wendy out to some very special Blue Mountains spots to do a stunning engagement photography session with the escarpment as the backdrop, it was a perfect sunny day and we managed to stop at three amazing locations for their shoot. Of course a waterfall as well as the Three Sisters is a must when you are travelling on a holiday all the way from Malaysia to the Blue Mountains and to be able to capture these images for James and Wendy as a memory of their day is super special.

If you are thinking of proposing to your loved one and would like us to coordinate and capture those very special moments, email us with an enquiry and we can send you our proposal information brochure to see if Falls Rest and the amazing Blue Mountains is the place for you to start the next chapter of your life with the love of your life.

With Love
