Our Story
Hello! We're Kyle and Jason
"I relocated to the Blue Mountains in 2020 and have since fallen in love with the upper mountains. I grew up in a small town so after 10 years in Sydney, I was eager to be closer to nature and build better relationships with my new community. Upon arriving in the mountains, I began working as a civil celebrant performing weddings and funerals, and am now the proud founder of a local small business called Elope Blue Mountains. In my free time, I also teach Reiki, volunteer at the Rhododendron Gardens and sing in the Heathens choir. It brings a lot of joy running into people I know in the mountains and exploring all the amazing hikes in the area."

"I work as a Registered Clinical Nurse Specialist in haematology and cancer care. Throughout my nursing career, I've met wonderful patients who reside in the Blue Mountains and they always commented on the community and beauty of the local area. After many years in Sydney, it felt right to move on from the good old city life and try something new.... and I haven't looked back! I'm currently studying to become an academic researcher in cancer nursing - exploring complementary modalities to improve patient health outcomes and minimise treatment toxicities. Kyle and I have settled into Wentworth Falls and I love the life we are building here."

A Story of Fate
We met the previous owners of Falls Rest and the Glasshouse via the wedding industry. Nicole and David had finished building the venue and accommodation space and were looking for a business partner to help them promote it and get the word out. At this point in time, Kyle was launching Elope Blue Mountains. After a get-to-know-you-coffee we knew we had found good people and it wasn't long before Kyle was a Celebrant on their preferred supplier list and the Glasshouse was a venue on the Elope Blue Mountains list.
Fast forward to December 2023 and Nicole and David mentioned they were thinking about a move interstate. They asked if we could house and dog sit while they were away scoping out options in Tasmania. We were both trying (desperately) to find a bigger rental property at the time so we of course said YES!
During one of these house sits in May 2024, we couldn't help but lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and appreciate the magnificence of the property. We thought to ourselves, this house ticked all our boxes and if we were to buy in the future, it would be something like this.
When Nicole and David came back from their trip, they surprised us by announcing they had put down a contract on a new home in Tasmania and were going to list the Wentworth Falls property. Instinctively, we both said...
"We'll buy it!"
"When the universe sends you the perfect couple to take over your beautiful businesses, you listen. We cannot think of anyone better than Kyle and Jason to be the custodians of Falls Rest and The Glasshouse at Falls Rest. From our first meeting to then becoming friends and now the owners, it seems this was all meant to be."

"We are so grateful to have crossed paths with Nicole & David. Their creativity, kindness and courage are admirable. They are the epitome of living life to the fullest. We are pleased to have them as our close friends and we wish them all the best in their next adventure in Tasmania. We promise to carry on the legacy they have built with love, sweat and tears!"
